Camille Lacourt is the reigning 2010 European Swimmer of the Year. The Narbonne, France native is coming off a tremendous season where he became European Champion in the 100m backstroke. Lacourt dominated at the 2010 European Championships in Budapest, Hungary, claiming three Gold medals in the 50m backstroke, the 4x100m Medley relay, and the 100m backstroke. Setting a new European Record, Lacourt’s 100m backstroke time of 52.11 was the second fastest time ever recorded. Four months later, Lacourt went on to win a Silver medal in the 100m backstroke at the FINA World Short Course Championships in Dubai. Lacourt hopes to continue his winning streak at the 2011 European and World Championships, and will be one to watch at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
