Matt Grevers set a new Olympic Record and took home a Gold Medal for USA in the 100m backstroke with a time of 52.18 at the London Games. In addition, Grevers won a Silver Medal in the 400m freestyle relay and Gold Medal in the 400m medley relay in London. At the 2008 Beijing Games, Grevers won a Silver Medal in the 100m backstroke, and two more Gold Medals in the 400m freestyle and medley relays, bringing his total Olympic medal count to six. Nicknamed Dutch because both of his parents are from the Netherlands, Grevers proposed to his fiance, U.S. swimmer Annie Chandler, at the 2012 Missouri Grand Prix. Grevers resides in Tuscon, Arizona where he trains at Tucson Ford Aquatics.

A: People that are willing to take big risks to accomplish there goals.
Q: What is the motto you live your life by?
A: Enjoy your life and don’t get concerned with the little things.
Q: When you were an age group swimmer, what was the best part of swimming?
A: At meets you could run around with all your friends eating pure sugar and still go all best times in your races.
Q: Besides swimming, what are you passionate about and why?
A: Everything I do! I’m not one to give a half effort. If I’m going to do something I want to be the best at it. For me that drive to be the best is called passion.

A: I can crack all my knuckles constantly and extremely fast.

Q: To me, TYR is...
A: More than the suit I wear. TYR has become my biggest supporter with not just providing me with the best product but also with constant encouragement. They have adopted me into their swim family and truly believed in my ability to swim fast.
Q: What is your favorite TYR training equipment for practice?
A: TYR’s goggles are hands down the best out there. I also enjoy the stiffness of their fins.
