Peter Marshall establishes a new World Record in the 100m Backstroke at the 2008 World Cup in Stockholm. Peter posted a new standard with a time of 49.94, beating out the previous 2006 record of 49.99. He set the fastest time in the world while wearing the elite swimsuit technology, Tracer Rise.

At the 2008 Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, Florida, TYR triathletes erased record books with two new Swim Course Records.
Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series Champion Becky Lavelle established a new standard for women in the 1.2 mile swim of the World Championship 70.3. She set the New Swim Course record in a time of 23 minutes and 3 seconds. With a time of 4:07:32, Becky finished 3rd overall, standing proud on the World Championship podium.
We welcome 2-Time USAT Elite Triathlete of the Year Andy Potts to the TYR Team of Elite Athletes. At this year’s World Championship 70.3 race, Andy was no rookie as he was first out of the water establishing a New Swim Course Record for men. His record setting pace was 21 minutes and 44 seconds. Finishing sixth, Andy was the Top American Finisher as he clocked in at 3:44:30. At the Kona Ironman World Championship, he placed as the Top American Finisher and 7th Place, just weeks before this race.
The 2008 Ironman World Championship 70.3 involved a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run. Over 1,200 athletes competed in this year’s elite race from 18 years old to 79 years old.

2-Time USAT Elite Triathlete of the Year Andy Potts has signed a multi-year contract agreement with TYR.
An Olympian in the sport of triathlon in 2004, Potts made a name for himself early on in the pool. A 6-time NCAA All-American in swimming at the University of Michigan and a former USA Swimming National Team Member helped establish Potts as one of the top multi-sport swimmers in the world.
Potts turned professional in the sport of triathlon in 2003 and was named the USAT Rookie of the Year. Since that time he has become a 2-Time ITU World Cup Champion, a 2-Time Ironman 70.3 California Champion, a 2-Time Escape from Alcatraz Champion, a 2007 U.S. National Champion and the 2007 Ironman 70.3 World Champion.
“Andy is a veteran triathlete of the highest regard and well respected by all in the sport,” said Ryan Dolan, Team and Multi-Sport Director at TYR. “His talent and dedication are a reflection of his tremendous character. It is with great excitement that we welcome him to our family at TYR.”
