Another American Record Lowered in Long Beach
On the final day of the 2009 Pac 10 Championships, a new American Record was established in 100-yard freestyle in 41.43; this bettered the previous sprint mark of 41.62 set back in 2002.
At the Belmont Olympic Plaza pool in Long Beach, the swimmer first threatened the American Record in the 100-yard individual race with a 41.64. Only minutes later, he rewrote history as the leadoff of the men’s 400-yard freestyle relay wearing Tracer Rise.
