Self Magazine Showcases TYR as Training Essentials

Self magazine teamed up with Today Show hosts Natalie Morales and Hoda Kotb to encourage women to enter the sport of triathlon to stay in shape. As part of a two-page spread in November’s Self, TYR’s Multi Silicone Swim Cap and Technoflex® 4.0 Junior Brites Swim Goggle are featured as “Triathlon-Training Essentials.”

Self reaches an audience of more than 1.5 million readers.

TYR Athletes and Coach Contend for Golden Goggles

Vote HERE.

With the USA Swimming Foundation’s Golden Goggle Awards scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 22nd in Beverly Hills, Calif., TYR-sponsored athletes and coaches will be up for awards in five out of eight categories. Recent TYR member Ariana Kukors is nominated the most of any other female with her name gracing three of the categories, including 2009 Female Athlete of the Year.

Crippen Teams with TYR Through 2012

With a commitment to promoting and supporting athletes with determination and perseverance, it is with great pleasure that TYR announces Fran Crippen’s return as one of the company’s sponsored swimmers through 2012

Crippen returned to the water in February of 2009 after a six month break, in which time he contemplated retirement. Fueled with motivation to recommit himself to the open water, he rejected the idea and began the next chapter in his career that has already garnered numerous accomplishments.

TYR Co-Founder Featured in Wall Street Journal

Years Later, Olympic Medalist Hasn’t Shaken Off the Water

Steve Furniss has been covered in the Personal Journal section of Tuesday’s edition by James Wagner.

Beginning the article with, “As an Olympic swimmer, Steve Furniss used to train twice a day, six days a week. Some days he would swim as much as 10 miles. He won a bronze medal for the 200-meter individual medley at the 1972 Games in Munich and competed in the 1976 Olympics.”
