Coeur d’Alene started off for TYR’s John Flanagan and Potts with a 1-2 exit out of the water. Both racing in the TYR Hurricane Category 5 wetsuit, Flanagan split 45:58 and Potts followed close behind in 46:28. The next competitor was another six minutes back. Potts made up the deficit quickly on the bike and held on to his lead headed into T2. With an impressive 2:42:48 marathon split, he crossed the finish line in 8:24:40.

Tisseyre relied on the same back-end speed she used to win Mooseman 70.3 on June 6th to finish first in 4:23:21. Fifth out of the water in TYR’s Sayonara swimskin and second off the bike, her 1:27:38 half marathon split positioned her at the front to hit the finish line first with a one minute, 36-second margin of victory.

Dibens raced in a TYR Hurricane Category 5 wetsuit during the swim leg of the race, coming out of the water with an 80 second advantage headed into T1. The British athlete used her strength on the bike leg (2:24:17) to lengthen her lead another six minutes headed to half marathon run, and cruised to the finish with an overall time of4:25:14. Beating the next professional female by over four minutes, Dibens also placed 15th overall among the professional men.

With the win, Dibens will now set sight on another victory when she toes the starting line of the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon in Minneapolis on July 10th. This season she has already won Rev 3 Knoxville, Wildflower Triathlon, and Abu Dhabi International Triathlon wearing TYR.

Exiting the water with the chase pack wearing TYR’s Sayonara Swimskin, Dibens quickly got out in front on the bike and remained the leader for the duration of the race. Finishing in 2:03:48 for the 1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run, she came in 3:16 ahead of the next female professional.

Dibens is scheduled to race next at the Quassy Rev3Tri on June 6th.

Spending the majority of her time training in the high altitude of Colorado Springs, CO, 28-year-old Haskin has steadily added a multitude of accolades to her resume. Placing in the top two at four of the 2009 Lifetime Fitness Triathlon Series to take the overall title, she now looks ahead to representing TYR in her flourishing career.

“Having been a professional athlete for five years now, I know how important it is to be working with a company who supports their athletes to race at their best,” Haskins shared. “TYR is a title sponsor of many major triathlons around the country, including the Lifetime Fitness: Race to the Toyota Cup Series. I have raced in this series for the past two years and look forward to personally representing TYR while racing in this series and defending my title for 2010.”

A current USAT National Team Member, Haskins has worn the red, white, and blue with pride. In 2008, she competed for USA at the Beijing Olympics, finishing 11th overall. In addition, she has secured a USAT Elite National Championship, as well as a silver medalist at the 2008 ITU World Championships.

Haskins has partnered with TYR to compete in the company’s full line of triathlon apparel, swimwear, accessories, and the debut wetsuit scheduled to hit the market February 25th, the Hurricane.

The morning started for 28-year-old Tisseyre and the rest of competitors at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach. A 2009 Ironman 70.3 Boise champion, Tisseyre entered the water in her TYR Hurricane Cat 5 wetsuit looking to prove her talent amongst the world’s top competitors.

Staying close behind the leaders in the water, Tisseyre exited the 1.2-mile swim in 26 minutes flat and began the 56-mile bike strong. Remaining consistent throughout, she split 2:15:11 and headed into the run seventh.

The 13.1-mile run became the stage for Tisseyre to shine. Wasting no time, she passed three competitors to move up to fourth headed into the final 5k of the race. Coming to the final stretch back at Pier 60, she charged pass Caroline Steffen with 100m to go to take third overall and secure a spot on the podium in 4:05:27. Her run split (1:20:31) was the fastest of the day on the women’s side, topping the overall race winner Julie Diben’s split by over four minutes.

With the completion of Saturday’s race, Tisseyre’s outstanding 2009 season comes to a close.  Tisseyre recently finished her thesis in biomechanics, and  moved to Victoria to train with her coach and team at Lifesport. Lavelle entered the Chicago race after winning the event the prior year. In the sprint distance, she kept close with competitors Sarah Haskins and Sarah Groff of Colorado Springs, CO, splitting 21:08 in the swim, 1:01:36 in the bike, and a closing 39:12 run split. Despite the strong bike leg that held off Groff and
left her trailing closely behind Haskin, she was unable to repeat the victory-closing her race behind the two in 2:02:45.

With her performance, Lavelle remains in first place in the 2009 Life Time Fitness triathlon series, with 25,000 points- 1,000 ahead of Rebeccah Wassner, and 5,000 over Sarah Haskins. She will compete in the last two stops on the tour- Los Angeles and Dallas- for her chance at the $20,000 bonus purse.

TYR-sponsored Andy Potts of Colorado Springs, CO also toed the starting line in Chicago after coming off a prominent win at Ironman 70.3 Timberman the week prior. Emerging out of the water in the Tracer Sayonara first, he mounted his bike and was battling with close competitor Matt Reed. Speeding along on the bike leg down Lakeshore Drive, he collided with an age-group competitor and was ousted off his bike. Rushed to the hospital, he reportedly suffered extensive abrasions but is said to be ok.

Further south, Hawaii’s Flanagan had a stellar swim split in Lousiville, emerging from the water in the Sayanora with a new swim course record of 44:54. Displaying his ability to race amongst the sport’s top contenders, he remained consistent throughout the race to finish sixth.

The no wetsuit swim and no-drafting format race set the stage for Pott’s to prove his competitiveness against the internationally-represented field.

In the swim portion, Australian Clayton Fettel and Potts finished 1-2, each wearing TYR’s new Tracer Sayonara. Jumping on the bike, Potts fell behind, having the sixth fastest split (57:45.9). In that time, Boulder, CO’s Matt Reed was able to claim the first place position heading into the run.

Although pre-race predictions questioned Pott’s ability to out-run his competitors, he championed from behind to have the fastest split of the last leg of the race in 31:25.1. He would cross the finish second overall to Reed with a final time of 1:49:15.5.

On the women’s side, Lavelle entered the race as the hometown favorite after having grown up in Minneapolis.

Consistency throughout the entire race proved to be instrumental to Lavelle’s third place finish. She was third out of the water with a split of 19:28.7, as well as third on the bike (1:02.29.6). With the fastest T2 split in the pro female category, she persevered through the run to finish at 2:02:39.3. She was out-raced by Sarah Haskins and Julie Bibens.
