Wellington Wins Big in Kansas, Tisseyre Victorious at Mooseman

Huntington Beach, Calif. – June 6, 2010 – TYR’s Chrissie Wellington celebrated her first victory of the 2010 season at the Ironman 70.3 Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. The 3-time Ironman World Champion entered T2 with a sizeable lead after a blazing 2:21:15 bike leg. She went on to prove her early dominance in the 2010, posting the fastest run split in a 70.3 race this season (1:15:12). Her overall time of 4:07:49 was more than 15 minutes ahead of the next female professional.

TYR’s Andy Potts had a strong performance on the men’s side in Kansas – coming out of the water first in 23:32 wearing the TYR Sayonara Swimskin. He finished second overall in 3:44:31.

Magali Tisseyre outperformed the professional field at Mooseman 70.3 in Newfound Lake, New Hampshire on Sunday, clocking in at 4:30:46. The women’s race was highlighted by Tisseyre’s 2:37:40 bike split that positioned the 29-year-old for victory.

TYR’s Flanagan Wins Honolulu Triathlon, Stevens 2nd at Ironman 70.3 Florida

Huntington Beach, Calif. – May 17, 2010 – TYR triathlete John Flanagan was victorious at the 7th annual Honolulu Triathlon on Sunday, May 16th. The USA Triathlon-sanctioned event featured a 1500m swim, 40km bike, and a 10km run for the 1190 athletes at the stating line. Flanagan, who is regarded the fastest swimmer in the sport, took the win in 1:54:55.

May 16th was shared with the start of the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Florida, where TYR athletes TJ Tollakson, Amanda Stevens, and Magali Tisseyre each toed the starting line with 2,200 other athletes on the grounds of the Walt Disney World.

Tollakson impressed the field with a blazing 1:59:57 bike split on the 56-mile leg to take a seven minute lead headed into T2. The surge ahead of the pack proved to be too much as he missed a podium finish, taking 7th.

U.S. National Champion Stevens stayed consistent throughout the entire 70.3 race. Second out of the water in 25:11, she maintained the position to finish second overall in 4:18:55. Tisseyre had a late surge on the run to finish third in 4:23:10.

TYR Signs Two-Time Olympian Megan Jendrick

Huntington Beach, Calif. – May 13, 2010 – TYR signs Megan Jendrick, one of USA Swimming’s most decorated female breaststrokers, to endorse and wear the TYR swim collection of swimsuits, apparel, and accessories. She will compete in the new Tracer High-Performance Series of technical suits in her quest for a spot on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team.

TYR’s Dibens Wins Big at 2010 Rev3Tri Knoxville

TYR athlete Julie Dibens celebrated another victorious weekend on Sunday, May 9th at the 2010 Rev3Tri in Knoxville, Tenn.

Exiting the water with the chase pack wearing TYR’s Sayonara Swimskin, Dibens quickly got out in front on the bike and remained the leader for the duration of the race. Finishing in 2:03:48 for the 1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run, she came in 3:16 ahead of the next female professional.

Dibens is scheduled to race next at the Quassy Rev3Tri on June 6th.

TYR Triathletes Perform in Hurricane at Wildflower and Alcatraz

Huntington Beach, Calif. – May 3, 2010 – TYR triathletes competed and excelled at the 2010 Avia Wildflower Triathlon Saturday, May 1st, and at the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon on Sunday, May 2nd. All athletes wore TYR’s Hurricane wetsuit.

Julie Dibens outshined her competitors at the Wildflower race in Bradley, Calif. She immediately took the lead on the swim leg in the Hurricane, exiting the water with a 1:45 advantage. Holding onto her lead through the bike, she split 1:28:28 on the 13.1-mile run to solidify her lead and cross the finish line in 4:27:53. The time set a new course record standard by 3:15.

At the start of the 2010 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon in the cold, chopping waters of San Francisco were 1,800 triathletes – including TYR’s Andy Potts and Jenna Shoemaker. Potts raced aside the top male professionals during the entire course to come out third in a time of 2:02:02. Shoemaker, who had the fastest 18-mile bike leg on the women’s side (51:56), finished second overall in 2:14:47.
