FINA Approves Breakthrough TYR Tracer™ Technology
TYR announces the approval by FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation), the international swimming governing body, of its newest version of the Tracer™ technology, Tracer Rise. Tracer technology significantly advances the boundaries of what an elite swimsuit can do for the performance of an athlete.
“This technology hasn’t been seen before in the sport of swimming. It’s an entirely new direction in the pool. We are thrilled to offer Tracer Rise in our Tracer technology grouping. It is a result of working closely with our elite athletes in development in order to push the innovation envelope,” says Steve Furniss, TYR co-founder and 1972 Olympic swimming medalist.
TYR swimmers may select from two Tracer technologies based on their performance needs as they approach the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Tracer technology is founded on lightweight fabrications, extreme water repellency, and precision compression on key muscle groups to aid in reaction time, recovery, and stamina.
“Once I jumped into the water, I knew I had a real advantage. I had more endurance and a more efficient stroke. I can’t wait to compete in Missouri in the new TYR Tracer Rise,” says 2007 National Champion, Peter Marshall.
Tracer technology has recently garnered outstanding results including most recently where Matt Grevers won the High Point Award at the Southern California Toyota Grand Prix, Mary DeScenza won the High Point Award at the 2007 U.S. Short Course National Championships and a total of 7 National titles were achieved in Tracer Light.
