Mary DeScenza Re-Writes Record Books
Mary DeScenza set the new AMERICAN RECORD in the 200yd Butterfly at 2:04.27 at the 2008 SC World Championships. The former record, 2:05.65 set over 27 years ago by Mary T. Meagher was the longest standing record on the books. Mary wore the Tracer Light as she set the American Record.
Doug Van Wie established a new WORLD RECORD in the Men’s 4x100yd Relay at the S.C. World Championships. Doug brought the team to victory by swimming the final leg of the race in Tracer Rise. His Relay Team clocked in at 3:09.18.
Other outstanding performances at the SC World Championship include Robert Margalis earning a Silver medal in the 400 IM (4:03.74), less than 1 second off the SC World Championship Record. A New European Record was set in the Tracer Technology.
TYR swimmers will compete at the SC World Championships through the weekend.
