French Swimmer Breaks Time Barriers in TYR Tracer RiseTYR Sport officially introduced its latest technical suit at the French Olympic Trials, this last week. TYR Tracer Rise is the first high performance urethane fabric ever used in competition. French Swimmer Amaury Leveaux broke the European National Record in the 50m Freestyle with an astonishing fast time of 21.38. Leveaux came within 0.1 seconds of the World Record, making him the 2nd Fastest Swimmer in History in the 50m Freestyle. Leveaux is the first and only swimmer in history to swim under 22 seconds in the 50m Freestyle Long Course and swim under 1:47 in the 200m Freestyle Long Course. Few swimmers in history have ever gone under 22 seconds on the 50m Freestyle Long Course and only a handful have achieved the feat of breaking 1:47 in the 200m Freestyle Long Course, but no one has ever done both, until now and this puts Leveaux in the annals of swimming history. “It is a rare combination in swimming to be among the world’s best in a sprint and a middle distance event. Amaury Leveaux and our French swimmers’ performances in Tracer Rise further validates our latest elite technology, Tracer Rise. Fast just got faster,” said Steve Furniss, TYR co-founder and 1972 Olympic medalist. French swimmers Amaury Leveaux, Aurore Mongel, Benjamin Stasilus, Julien Nicolardot and others launched TYR’s latest generation swimsuit technology, Tracer Rise this last week at the French Olympic Trials. TYR swimmers amassed a European Record, French National Record and multiple French Olympic Trials Meet Records in Dunkirk. TYR swimmers have demonstrated up to a 4% performance improvement when swimming in Tracer Technology. Tracer Rise utilizes Rapid Boundary Technology, the fusion of a non-permeable, polyurethane micro-coating to a proprietary lightweight water repellent woven fabric assisting the swimmer in a higher body position in the water and drag reduction. Tracer Rise was approved for Olympic competition by FINA, swimming's international sanctioning body and swimming counsel for the International Olympic Committee. Upcoming events include the 2008 Open Water World Championship in Seville, Spain on May 3-4 and the Santa Clara Grand Prix on May 15-18 where Tracer Rise will be again tested by the world’s best swimmers. The 10k Open Water Swimming event makes its Olympic debut for the first time in history at the Beijing Olympic Games and next weekend is the Olympic Trials selection for the top 10 spots for the Olympic Finals event. The Top American qualifiers will wear TYR Tracer Technology.
