Wet hair

Aug 16, 2015 | Posted by Kelley | Gender: Female Sport Interest: Swimming Age: 55-64

First, I don't think any swim cap could be classified as comfortable so don't despair over the 1 star for comfort. As for fit and performance, I managed to get all of my thick, curly hair into the bulge in the back of the cap and pull it snugly over my ears. Unhappily though, within just about 5 minutes in the pool, water started to seep into the cap. I tugged and pulled constantly trying to keep it secure around my hairline to no avail. One big messy head of wet hair stuck in a tight, sticky cap. yuck

Not for SCUBA

Aug 11, 2015 | Posted by Carolyn

This long hair cap is a great idea and works well for swimming, even with a large barrett. BUT when I tried to use it while SCUBA diving to about 20 ft there was enough air that it worked its way loose and I had to take it completely off. Not good. One idea is to make the hair completely wet at the outset and squeeze out as much air as possible.

Long locs

I have thick dreadlocks that hang to the middle of my back. I searched the internet looking for a swim cap and after reading a few reviews( only 1 that I found helpful) settled on the TYR cap in black. I wore this cap for an 8 day swimming course and we ended up under water each day. 1st I criss-crossed the back of my hair starting from my neck up (almost like a braid). When I got almost to the top I tried to stack my locks on top of my head and flattened the stack of hair as best I could. Then I put a stocking cap on to help hold the hair in place and this also helped the swim cap slide on and off better. Otherwise the cap pulls on your hair and it's uncomfortable. The first couple of times I needed someone to help get the cap on because the cap is tight. I removed both the swim and stocking cap immediately when getting out of the pool and although the stocking cap would sometimes feel a little damp, my hair never did. I would definitely recommend this cap for long, thick hair, braids, locs, Hope my review helps someone.

Great fit

Jan 17, 2015 | Posted by lauren | Gender: Female Sport Interest: Swimming Age: 18-24

My hair is medium-long and I bought a white cap, mint cap, and a black cap. The white/mint caps seem to fit better than the black one (the white/mint ones seems to be a little bit roomier and the sides cover most of my ear). The black one is sort of shiny, but the white and mint are pretty matte. Even though the color and size seems a little different, they're great caps and have lasted a long while!!! Also holds up in sandy beaches.
