Yana KLOCHKOVA

World Record holder and defending Olympic Champion Yana Klochkova went to Athens aiming for gold and did not come home disappointed. She returned home a Ukrainian national hero becoming the first woman in history to win consecutive Gold medals in two events with victories in the 200 and 400m I.M. in Sydney, and then Athens. Considered to be one of the world's most versatile female swimmers, Yana fought her way to the finish in two of the sports most grueling races. In the 400m I.M., she battled to the finish winning gold in a time of 4:34.83. Yana's 200m I.M. time of 2:11.14 not only earned her second Gold Medal of the Olympics, but was the fifth fastest swim in history. Yana is counted among the elite all around swimmers in the world with more world leading and top 3 world rankings than any other athlete, male or female.
