Aurore Mongel Wins European Championship Title
French swimmer Aurore Mongel captures Gold in the 200m Butterfly. Her incredible swim clocked in at 2:06.50, was just one second off the World Record pace. Aurore continues to speed up her Personal Best Times, from the 2008 French National Championship (2:08:13), to the 2008 European Championship Prelims (2:07.73) to the 2008 European Championship Finals (2:06.59). Aurore also grabbed a Bronze finish in the 100m Butterfly, touching the wall at 58.50. In the 200m Freestyle, Romanian Olympian Camelia Potec won Silver in 1:57.42. She stopped the clock at 4:05.69 in the 400m Freestyle for a Bronze medal finish. Olympic Gold Medalist Julia Pakhalina of the Russian Diving Federation performed gracefully as she was crowned the 2008 European Championship 3m Diving Champion. She also won the 3m Synchronized Diving with her teammate, Anastasia Pozdnyakova. The Russian Diving Federation also swept the Gold in the Men’s 3m Synchronized Diving title. The men’s team scored an incredible score of 9 or above more than 20 times through the 3m Finals. 5 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze Congratulations to our European athletes!
