Making Waves at FINA World Cup

The FINA World Cup Series dropped into Durban, South Africa for its second stop in the seven city racing tour. World Champion Peter Marshall competed in three events, 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly. He garnered two Silver medals in his specialty backstroke events. In the 50m Backstroke, he clocked in at 23.73, just .07 behind the leader. “I went a 52.02 in the 100 back and am pleased with that time,” said Peter. We welcome the newest member of the TYR team, Brooke Bishop. She joins TYR after a successful colligate career at Stanford. Brooke is a World University Games Silver medalist and USA Olympic Trials finalist in multiple events. At the FINA World Cup in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Brooke’s sprinting talent shined on the international stage. She captured a Gold medal in the 50m Freestyle, Silver in 100m Butterfly and Bronze in the 50m Butterfly. The FINA World Cup Series will visit five more cities around the world as it rounds out the tour in Berlin on November 16.
