Seal Beach, CA - March 2, 2020 - 4x Olympic Gold Medalist Simone Manuel and TYR Sport are pleased to announce the launch of the TYR X SIMONE collection, available exclusively at SwimOutlet. The signature line will include swimwear for women, men, and kids, as well as goggles.
“I am excited to empower and inspire all people to dream big, dream bold, and dream beyond by creating designs that reflect the joy of swimming,” said Manuel. “The TYR x SIMONE collection is built to champion diversity and advance efforts around inclusion, and partnering with TYR and SwimOutlet will help provide a platform that spreads this message.”
The TYR design team worked in conjunction with Manuel to create vibrant designs that would engage new consumers of diverse backgrounds into the aquatic space.
“For the first time in TYR’s thirty year history, we are excited to be able to work alongside a professional athlete to create a capsule collection,” said Matt Dilorenzo, CEO of TYR Sport. “Simone was very involved in every step of the development process. From logo design to color choices and suit silhouette selection, the care she put into each nuance of this line speaks to the message she wants to share with the world. We are extremely proud of Simone’s hard work and of the finished product.”
Equally as important as the designs themselves is a business strategy that reflects Simone’s desire to reach an audience much larger than competitive swimming. SwimOutlet was a natural fit to bring Simone’s vision to the masses.
“As the world’s leading online swim shop, we’ve long had a commitment to bringing the newest, most cutting edge, and unique products to our customers and the marketplace in general,” said Elaina Cuoci, Director of Merchandising at SwimOutlet.com. “The TYR X SIMONE line will capture everyone’s attention this Olympic year with its inclusive message of dreaming big and dreaming bold, we’re extremely proud to have it available exclusively now at SwimOutlet.com.”

Seal Beach, CA — July 29, 2019 — After a storied career, 7x Olympic Medalist, 16x World Championship Medalist and American Record Holder Dana Vollmer has announced she will retire from competitive swimming after this summer’s USA Swimming Nationals.
“Other parts of my life are asking for my time and attention. This week I am leaving elite level swimming. This is not letting go of a dream; it’s having the ambition to start a new one! While it is sad to see this chapter of my life coming to a close, I do it with a full heart,” said Vollmer.
At just twelve years of age Dana Vollmer began her quest for Olympic success as the youngest swimmer to compete in the 2000 Olympic trials. Today, the butterfly specialist is a 5x Olympic gold medalist, and has broken and set world records at the games in both Athens and London. Dana is the first woman in history to ever swim the 100m butterfly in under 56 seconds, which still stands as the fastest time ever recorded by an American. She made her most recent Olympic appearance in Rio de Janeiro after having her first child, and is affectionately known today as the "Momma on a Mission." In addition to earning seven Olympic medals, she has also earned sixteen world championship medals over the course of her career.
“Dana has left an incredible legacy on the sport of swimming, and we will always be proud to call her part of the TYR family,” said Matt DiLorenzo, CEO of TYR Sport. “We look forward to supporting Dana in the next phase of her career, and congratulate her on all her remarkable achievements.”
Fans will have a final chance to see Vollmer race the 100 butterfly at Stanford’s Avery Aquatic Center on Friday, August 2nd, where she will also be signing autographs. To read Vollmer’s personal letter on her decision to retire, please visit http://blog.tyr.com.About TYR
