Seal Beach, CA—January 15, 2018—TYR Sport is proud to announce its collaboration with USA Swimming to recognize the top 18-and-under performers across the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series with the first ever TYR Next Gen Team.
Beginning at this week’s series opener in Austin, Texas, and continuing on in Atlanta, Mesa, Indianapolis, Santa Clara and Columbus, the top performing 18-and-under finishers in each event will be recognized as members of TYR Next Gen for their race city. These athletes will be acknowledged on the USA Swimming website and awarded with a specialized DeckPass Patch. At the culmination of the series USA Swimming will consider each of the recognized performances from across the series to determine one top 18-and-under male and female performer in each event for the full series. These select winners will then be named to the overarching 2018 TYR Next Gen Team.
“As the new title sponsor for the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series we are proud to partner with USA Swimming to recognize and support future generations of the sport,” began Chief Executive Officer Matt DiLorenzo. “We look forward to inspiring athletes, coaches and fans as we continue to take swimming to the next level.”
The inaugural TYR Next Gen Team will be announced at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships during an on-deck ceremony prior to a predetermined finals session and will be recognized on usaswimming.org.
