A Third World Record in Just Six Days for Amaury Leveaux
On day two of the European Short Course Championships, Amaury Leveaux broke the World Record in the 100m freestyle SC semi-finals with a time of 45.12. Leveaux shaved off more than half of a second from the former record of 45.69.
Leveaux now holds the World Record in:
• 50m Butterfly SC (22.29) set on December 6th, 2008 at the French National Championships • 50m Freestyle SC (20.48) set on December 11th, 2008 at the European Short Course Championships • 100m Freestyle SC (45.12) set on December 12th, 2008 at the European Short Course ChampionshipsAt the Beijing Olympic Games, Leveaux earned two silver medals in the 50m freestyle and 4×100m freestyle relay. He is also the only swimmer in history to go under 22 seconds in the 50m freestyle LC and also swim under 1:47 in the 200m freestyle LC.
