Amaury Leveaux Breaks 50m Butterfly World Record Wearing Tracer Rise
Amaury Leveaux set a new world standard in the 50m butterfly SC in a time of 22.29 at the French National Championships in Angers. He lowered the previous global standard of 22.50.
While competing in Angers, Leveaux has improved his previous best time in the 50m butterfly SC by a stunning 4.3%.
“Amaury continues to surprise and amaze with his new found versatility in the 50m butterfly. He is just beginning to show his extraordinary potential,” said Steve Furniss, executive vice president at TYR Sport.
At the Beijing Olympic Games, Leveaux earned two silver medals in the 50m freestyle and 4x100m freestyle Relay. He also remains the only swimmer in history to go under 22 seconds in the 50m freestyle LC and also swim under 1:47 in the 200m freestyle LC.
