Matt Grevers had a stellar performance in Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles Invitational, finishing first in the 200m and 100m back-stroke. In addition to his two titles, Grevers set a meet record in the Men’s 100m back-stroke.
Grever’s first win came on Friday, July 15
th. With a time of 1 minute and 59.79 seconds, Grevers took home the Men’s 200m back-stroke title. His time was just fast enough to out swim his teammate Cory Chitwood who finished second with a time of 2 minutes and .55 seconds.
On Sunday, July 17
th, Grevers raced in his
TYR Tracer, breaking the meet record. In the long course meter format of the Men’s 100m back-stroke, Grevers set a blistering time of 54.15. Peter Marshall set the previous record in 2009 with a time of 54.19.
