Crippen Captures World Championship Bronze

Huntington Beach, CA – July 21, 2010 - TYR athlete Fran Crippen captured the bronze medal in the 5k at today’s 2010 FINA Open Water World Championship in Quebec, Canada. In addition to medaling in the 5k swim, Crippen placed 4th in this year’s 10k and was honored as the top American Male finisher in both 2010 events. Crippen’s achievement marks back-to-back bronze, following his 2009 FINA Open Water World Championship medal in the 10k distance. Earlier this season, Crippen amazed the open water swimming world by battling back from a 200m deficit to secure a hard-earned victory at the 2010 FINA 10k World Cup. Crippen wore TYR’s Tracer Light Tight while speeding to the podium in today’s championship event. The proven performance of Tracer technology’s zoned muscle compresssion and hydrophobic coating has accompanied TYR athletes in multiple National, NCAA and World Championships.
