French Olympic Tracer Rise Debuted at Paris Open
TYR along with La Fédération Française de Natation used a Paris pool deck as a fashion runway today and previewed the official 2008 French National Team’s Olympic competition swimsuit. Designed and manufactured by TYR, the technical swimsuit TYR Tracer Rise™ dramatically presents the French national team colors and flag.
"These are the most technically advanced suits ever worn by a French national team. TYR’s combination of high performance technology and bold design means French swimmers will have the fastest swimsuit in the pool,” said former French Swimming Olympian, Franck Horter.
European Record Holder Amaury Leveaux, the second fastest man in swimming history, and his teammates wore the patriotic Tracer Rise for the first time at the Open de Natation Paris swim competition this week.
At today’s Paris Open, Leveaux captured a Silver medal in the 100m Freestyle in a time of 48.85. Teammate Aurore Mongel won the 100m Butterfly. Her best time of the Paris Open stopped the clock at 58.73.
At the recent French Olympic Trials, Leveaux wore Tracer Rise. In back-to-back events he established a historic racing milestone by swimming the 50m Freestyle sprint in under 22 seconds and shortly thereafter won the grueling the middle-distance 200m Freestyle in under 1:47.
“I know I have the best swimsuit. I am really confident when I put on Tracer Rise before my race. No one will mistake French swimmers in the Beijing pool,” said Leveaux.
Tracer Rise is the first polyurethane hybrid design used in competition. Swimmers wearing the suits have set national, European and world records and have demonstrated up to a 4% performance improvement.
As the official sponsor, TYR welcomes athletes more than 21 nations to the Open de Natation Paris at the La Croix Catelan pool, set in front of the Eiffel Tower.
