Indiana University Breaks NCAA Diving Meet Record
Indiana University won the women’s three-meter diving national championships Friday in College Station, Texas. They established a new NCAA record with a tally of 437.75 points, improving their score from the preliminaries by 86 points to secure the win.
The Hoosiers also placed third in the springboard diving event with 366.90 points. The Indiana University diving team is led by elite TYR coach Jeff Huber who has served as the 2008 U.S. Beijing Olympic head coach, and has been honored as the NCAA Women’s Diving Coach of the Year and seven-time U.S. National Coach of the Year.
Houston University secured a second place finish in three-meter springboard competition with a score of 386.10 and earned their national title on Thursday in the one-meter diving event.
The NCAA diving championships continues Saturday with the women’s platform diving at the Student Rec Center Natatorium.
