Huntington Beach, CA - June 28, 2011 - TYR's newest athlete
Camille Lacourt garnered first place at the Paris Open in the men's 50m backstroke. Back in March, Lacourt posted the world's top time this year with a blistering 24.36. Lacourt's Paris Open winning time of 24.61 was equally impressive, eclipsing the second place finisher by .28 seconds to take the victory in his home country. Fellow TYR athlete
Matt Grevers also swam an excellent race to finish third with a time of 25.30, nearly equalling his season-best 25.29 from prelims which ranks him 15th in the world.
Grevers and Lacourt faced off again in the men's 100m backstroke, but this time the American bested Lacourt with a time of 53.35. Grevers' time moves him up to third in the world rankings. Lacourt finished second with a time of 53.52, slightly off his 2010 European Record of 52.11. The match-up between Grevers and Lacourt will be an exciting one to watch in the upcoming Olympic year.
TYR athlete and Germany native
Steffen Deibler also took home a title in the men's 100m butterfly. Deibler's time of 52.47 was just shy of his sixth-ranked 52.03 he swam earlier this year. For more information on TYR's athletes and the products they race and train in, please visit
