Seal Beach, CA — February 4, 2015— After a remarkable career, 2x Olympian and TYR athlete, Chloe Sutton has chosen to retire from competitive swimming.
Gaining international recognition as just a teenager, Sutton dominated in open water with major performances at both the 2006 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships and the 2007 Pan American Games. After competing in the 2008 Summer Olympics, Sutton redirected her focus toward new swimming goals. Becoming the first American to compete in both open water and the pool in the Olympics, Sutton took to London, representing the nation in 2012.
As a pioneer in the history of United States swimming, Chloe Sutton’s presence in the water will be missed. However, TYR Sport fully supports her decision to retire. Chloe will remain a strong ambassador for the TYR brand and for the sport as a whole. We look forward to watching her succeed in all of her future endeavors.
