Huntington Beach, CA – Nov. 14, 2013 – TYR Sport is thrilled to announce a multi-year sponsorship agreement with 24-year-old Olympic and World Championship silver medalist Jimmy Feigen. Feigen burst into international stardom as a member of the U.S. team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The freshly minted college graduate competed in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay with teammates Matt Grevers, Ricky Berens and Jason Lezak, and he took home silver after the U.S. team placed second behind France on the world stage. Feigen went on to compete at the 2013 US National Championships (Phillips 66 Nationals), where his stellar performance qualified him to swim at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona. At Worlds, he competed in the 4X100-meter freestyle relay, propelling the U.S. team to a silver medal. Feigen also competed in the 100-meter freestyle World final, where he earned silver after achieving a breakthrough and beating his own personal best time in the event. “We are extremely excited to sponsor Jimmy Feigen,” said Matt DiLorenzo, chief executive officer of TYR. “At only 24 years old, Jimmy has already won Olympic and World titles, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things he accomplishes in the future.” The talented, 6’5” athlete first made a name for himself at Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas, where his outstanding performances earned him the title of Swimming World’s High School Swimmer of the Year in 2008. He went on to swim for the University of Texas at Austin from 2009-2012. During his four-year college career, he earned 17 All-American honors and won NCAA championships in the 50, 100 and 400-yard freestyle events.
