Seal Beach, California -- February 28, 2014 -- TYR Sport has proudly unveiled its new Global Headquarters, located in Seal Beach, California. The unveiling was kicked off yesterday with an opening ribbon cutting ceremony, attended in part by Ellery Deaton (mayor of Seal Beach), Matthew DiLorenzo (CEO of TYR) and Joseph and Rosemarie DiLorenzo (founders of TYR).
Encompassing 66,500 square feet, the new building includes over 13,000 square feet of office space and a modernized warehouse designed to keep up with the company’s ever growing demand.
As an athletic brand, TYR promotes living a healthy, active lifestyle, and to that end, the new facility features a slew of employee amenities, including bike racks, showers, outdoor patio and ping pong and pool tables.
TYR also encompassed green features throughout the project with the inclusion of LED light fixtures, daylight sensors, recycled carpet, rubberized flooring and sustainable tile. Floor to ceiling glass in both the office and warehouse settings maximize natural lighting, while electric warehouse trucking generates zero emissions and do not require fueling.
"Seal Beach is overjoyed to welcome TYR, one of the largest performance swimwear and sport accessory companies in the world, into their new, sophisticated and technologically advanced corporate office and global distribution facility located right here in our seaside town,” said Mayor Deaton.
The Seal Beach building, which broke ground on Oct. 2, 2013, is replacing TYR’s original Huntington Beach, California location. The company also has two other locations in the United States, both located in New York.
“The move to Seal Beach highlights the impressive surge we are experiencing in our aquatic markets,” said Matt DiLorenzo, CEO of TYR. “The new building is strategically crafted to fit our vast business needs, while allowing room for even more growth in the future. It truly is an extraordinary project, and I am thrilled to be starting a new chapter of the TYR story in Seal Beach.”
TYR thanks the following vendors for contributing to the project’s success: Steelcase and Vitra furniture; Tangram; Mata Construction; Mozu Architecture; Creative Space; Abco Systems; Manhattan Associates warehouse management system; Raymond Handling; and TYCO security.
