Huntington Beach, CA - January 26, 2012 - Amanda Weir swam to a 54:14 victory in the 100m freestyle at the Austin Grand Prix on January 13th, the first event of USA Swimming's Grand Prix Series. Weir, a member of SwimAtlanta, outswam her closest competitor by .32 seconds to claim gold in her first race of the season. Ricky Berens won a silver medal in the men's 100m freestyle with a time of 49:13, just .16 seconds back from the leader.
On day two, TYR had three athletes top the podium. Berens won gold in the 200m freestyle with a time of 1:47:92,
Matt Grevers won Gold in the 200m Backstroke with a time of 1:57:76, and Amanda Weir won her second Gold Medal in the 50m freestyle with a time of 25:23.

Camille Lacourt enjoyed success at the Nancy Invitational in France. Lacourt swam to 53:59 victory in the 100m backstroke, and also took the top time in the world in the 50m backstroke with a 25:05.
