TYR's Dibens, Haskins Celebrate Weekend Victories

Huntington Beach, Calif. – March 14, 2010 – TYR professional triathlete Julie Dibens celebrated a first place finish at the inaugural Abu Dhabi International Triathlon on Saturday, March 13th while TYR’s Sarah Haskins kicked off the 2010 North American triathlon season with a victory at the 2010 Miami International Triathlon presented by TYR on Sunday, March 14th. Dibens set the tone for TYR athletes over the weekend with the big win at Abu Dhabi amongst 800 athletes representing 30 countries. The recent Ironman 70.3 World Champion relied on her bike strength to solidify her win with the fastest split of the female field despite a flat tire. Finishing the 200km bike with a four minute lead at the start of the run, she continued to length the lead on the run to clock a 7:08:25 overall. Also racing on the course with Dibens was TYR’s Fraser Cartmell who exited the 3K swim first wearing TYR’s Sayonara Swimskin. Remaining up with the top men professionals, the British pro crossed the finish fourth in 6:36:12. 2008 Olympian Haskins once again demonstrated her dominance in the Olympic-distance while in Miami, Fla. with a finishing time of 1:58:16. Swimming in the Sayonara and racing the bike and run in the Fusion 2 Shortjohn, it was her last leg that solidified the win. The only female to average sub six-minute pace, she split 36:25 on the 10km run.
