
Austin, Texas - March 5, 2010 - TYR athletes Ariana Kukors and Robert Margalis began the first night of finals at the 2010 Austin Grand Prix Thursday, March 4th on a high note with first place finishes each in the 200m individual medley. Both athletes were outfitted in the new
Tracer High-Performance Line in route to their wins.
Kukors’ race proved to be one of the highlights in Thursday night’s competition when she set a new pool record of 2:10.34 in the 200m individual medley. Racing in the Tracer B-Series, she had the fastest splits in each stroke to touch ahead of the entire field by over three seconds.
Following Kukors’ lead, FAST teammate Margalis also clinched his first victory of the meet in the individual medley with a time of 2:03.06. Wearing Tracer C-Series, he bounced back to finish well over two seconds ahead of the nearest competitor after a 9th place finish in the 100m butterfly semi-finals just minutes before.
