Huntington Beach, Calif. - May 17, 2010 - TYR triathlete John Flanagan was victorious at the 7th annual Honolulu Triathlon on Sunday, May 16th. The USA Triathlon-sanctioned event featured a 1500m swim, 40km bike, and a 10km run for the 1190 athletes at the stating line. Flanagan, who is regarded the fastest swimmer in the sport, took the win in 1:54:55. May 16th was shared with the start of the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Florida, where TYR athletes TJ Tollakson, Amanda Stevens, and Magali Tisseyre each toed the starting line with 2,200 other athletes on the grounds of the Walt Disney World. The surge ahead of the pack proved to be too much as he missed a podium finish, taking 7th. U.S. National Champion Stevens stayed consistent throughout the entire 70.3 race.
